Maintaining Sound Health And Wellness For Women And Children

The Peace of Knitting

Join me at Coastal Pines Wellness Center!

Have you knitting projects which are set aside? Would you like to learn new knitting skills? Or complete projects you haven't worked on in a while?

I'm excited to let you know I've set aside time to share the warmth of my office sanctuary where like-minded spirits can knit, learn new knitting skills, and relax in the peace and quiet of meditative sound healing, diffused essential oils, and friendship.

I used to watch as my grandmother knitted winter mittens for my sisters and me, each with their own number of stripes on the cuff so we could tell them apart! One very special Christmas, when I had just turned 7, my grandmother gave me my first set of knitting needles and a colorful supply of balls of yarn! I was so excited! My mother, whom I also carefully watched as she knit mittens and sweaters, taught me to knit during the following weeks. I can actually say I've been knitting ever since! Back then I knitted small swatches with no intention but to learn the craft of knitting, and, lo and behold... the project would become a dress for one of my dolls! People would say I was creative and intuitive. I just knew I loved the peaceful feeling knitting gave me. I was, and still am, continually in awe of the feeling of freedom which knitting provides to create something useful and beautiful from a small ball of yarn!

Since those early days I've made: scarves, mittens, hats, sweaters, socks, fingerless gloves, leg warmers, felted knitting bags, afghans, prayer shawls, Christmas stockings, cotton dishcloths, wool soap pouches, delicate drawstring pouches, and countless items for babies!
